💊 Kaszer’s Pharmacy
Before opening his pharmacy, John William Kaszer (“Wilhelm”) studied at Coraopolis High School and the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy and served during World War I.
His Coraopolis pharmacy operated at 1007 Fifth Avenue in the 1930s. The earliest record I have identified of the pharmacy at this location is 1931. The source of that is a prescription bottle from the pharmacy that I purchased on eBay.

The latest record I have identified of the pharmacy is 1938:
- 📰 See a 1938 ad featuring Kaszer’s Pharmacy as one of three pharmacies in Coraopolis offering Palmolive.
For some time in the 1950s, C. P. McLaughlin operated a grocery store at the same address. The storeroom there was also used as a polling place. Today, LegalVue lists 1007 Fifth Avenue as their address though the location is no longer open to the public to shop. 🍕 You can get pizza right next door at Zuko’s.
